Author Guidelines

The Digital Repository for Indian Scholarly Texts & Information (DRISTI) welcomes the submission of high-quality scholarly works from researchers, academicians, professionals, policymakers and institutions across the world. DRISTI is committed to publishing original, peer-reviewed and open-access scholarly publications that contribute to academic excellence and knowledge dissemination.

Types of Publications

DRISTI accepts proposals and manuscripts for a wide range of scholarly publications, including:

  • Authored Books

  • Edited Volumes

  • Academic Textbooks

  • Research Monographs

  • Conference Proceedings

  • Policy Reports

  • Institutional Publications

  • Working Papers

  • Research Compendiums

  • Academic Series

  • Theses and Dissertations (where applicable)

  • Technical Reports

  • Scholarly Reference Works

Submission Process

Authors may submit their publication proposal or complete manuscript through the DRISTI online submission system available on the platform. Where online submission is unavailable or by prior communication, submissions may also be made through the official communication channels of the DRISTI Secretariat.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • the manuscript follows the prescribed DRISTI manuscript template and formatting guidelines;

  • all required documents have been completed;

  • the manuscript complies with DRISTI's Book Publishing Policy, Publication Ethics Policy and Copyright & Licensing Policy;

  • all author information is complete and accurate.

An acknowledgement confirming receipt of the submission will normally be issued after successful submission.

Manuscript Requirements

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts that:

  • are original and unpublished;

  • are not simultaneously under consideration by another publisher;

  • make a significant scholarly contribution to their discipline;

  • are written in clear academic language;

  • contain accurate citations and references;

  • comply with accepted research ethics and publication standards.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, manipulated images, duplicate publication or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected and may be subject to further action under DRISTI's Publication Ethics Policy.

Editorial Assessment

Following submission, every manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess:

  • relevance to DRISTI's scope;

  • academic quality;

  • originality;

  • completeness of submission;

  • compliance with formatting requirements;

  • publication ethics.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary assessment proceed to independent peer review.

Peer Review

All scholarly publications submitted to DRISTI undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by independent subject experts.

The review process evaluates:

  • originality;

  • scholarly contribution;

  • research methodology;

  • analytical quality;

  • clarity of presentation;

  • academic significance;

  • ethical compliance.

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer recommendations before a final publication decision is made.

Publication Timeline

DRISTI accepts submissions throughout the year.

Although publication timelines vary depending on the nature and complexity of each manuscript, the editorial process generally includes:

  • Initial editorial assessment

  • Peer review

  • Author revisions

  • Editorial acceptance

  • Copyediting and proofreading

  • Typesetting and production

  • ISBN and DOI registration

  • Digital publication

  • Indexing and dissemination

Authors are kept informed regarding the progress of their submissions throughout the publication process.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to DRISTI are responsible for ensuring that:

  • the submitted work is entirely original;

  • all contributors meet accepted authorship criteria;

  • appropriate permissions have been obtained for copyrighted material;

  • conflicts of interest are disclosed;

  • ethical approvals have been obtained where applicable;

  • AI-assisted tools, where used, are appropriately disclosed in accordance with DRISTI's AI Policy.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their published work.

Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright over their published works while granting DRISTI a non-exclusive licence to publish, archive and disseminate the publication through its open-access platform.

Publications are ordinarily released under an appropriate Creative Commons licence to maximise accessibility and lawful reuse.
