Who can submit a publication proposal?

Is DRISTI an open-access publishing platform?
Yes. DRISTI is committed to open-access scholarly publishing, ensuring that published works are freely accessible worldwide, thereby increasing readership, visibility and research impact.
Are publication fees applicable?
Publication fees, where applicable, are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature, length and production requirements of the publication. Detailed information is provided after the initial editorial assessment and before publication agreements are finalised.
Does DRISTI accept submissions throughout the year?
Yes. DRISTI accepts publication proposals and manuscript submissions throughout the year.
How do I submit my manuscript?
Authors may submit their publication proposal or manuscript through the DRISTI online submission system. Where applicable, submissions may also be made through the official communication channels of the DRISTI Secretariat.
Where can I download manuscript templates and publication forms?
The latest manuscript templates, proposal forms, copyright and licensing forms, author declarations and other publication documents are available on the Download Resources section of the DRISTI platform.
What manuscript format should I use?
Manuscripts should ordinarily be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format using the official DRISTI manuscript template. Authors should ensure that references, tables, figures, citations and equations comply with the prescribed formatting guidelines.
Does DRISTI conduct peer review?
Yes. All scholarly publications undergo editorial assessment followed by an independent peer-review process to ensure originality, academic quality, methodological rigour and compliance with publication ethics.
How long does the publication process take?
Publication timelines vary depending on the nature of the manuscript, reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required. Authors are kept informed throughout each stage of the editorial and publication process.
Is there a minimum or maximum page limit?
There is no fixed page limit. The appropriate length of a publication depends upon its scholarly scope, discipline and publication type.
Is there a minimum number of chapters for a book?
Generally, authored books, edited volumes and academic textbooks are expected to contain at least five substantive chapters. However, exceptions may be considered for specialised publications at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Does DRISTI assign ISBNs and DOIs?
Yes. Eligible publications receive an International Standard Book Number (ISBN). Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are assigned in accordance with DRISTI's publishing policies and publication type.
Will my publication be indexed?
DRISTI publications are prepared using internationally recognised metadata standards and are designed for compatibility with major academic discovery services and indexing platforms, including Google Scholar, Crossref, OAI-PMH-compliant repositories and other recognised scholarly databases, subject to their respective indexing criteria.
Who retains copyright?
Authors retain copyright over their work while granting DRISTI a non-exclusive licence to publish, archive and disseminate the publication under the agreed licensing terms.
Which licence is used for publication?
Publications are ordinarily released under an appropriate Creative Commons licence in accordance with DRISTI's Copyright and Licensing Policy and the publication agreement.
Can I submit a manuscript that has been published elsewhere?
No. DRISTI accepts only original scholarly work that has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Does DRISTI check manuscripts for plagiarism?
Yes. Submitted manuscripts may be screened using recognised plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial assessment process. Manuscripts containing plagiarism or other forms of research misconduct may be rejected.
Can AI tools such as ChatGPT be used while writing a manuscript?
Authors may use AI tools for limited assistance, such as language editing or drafting support, provided such use complies with DRISTI's AI Policy. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy and integrity of their work, and AI systems cannot be listed as authors.
Is editorial support available during publication?
Yes. The DRISTI Secretariat provides guidance throughout the publication process, including proposal evaluation, manuscript preparation, peer review coordination, copyediting, production, metadata preparation and publication.
How can I become a peer reviewer?
Qualified researchers and academicians interested in serving as peer reviewers may apply through the official communication channels of the DRISTI Secretariat. Applications are evaluated based on academic qualifications, research expertise and publication experience.
